Mermaid Lids at DVF #NYFW15

One of my favourite make up looks from New York Fashion Week was from Diane von Furstenberg catwalk show. Channelling the spirit of Fortuna, the goddess of luck for her SS16 collection it is easy to see how this has been copied over from the clothes to the makeup. Each model graced the catwalk with goddess-like makeup, consisting of blue and green eyeshadow to create a mermaid look paired with nude, glossy lips. Such an amazing look and good for all skin tones and what is even better is how easy it is to re-create.
As I loved this look so much, I decided to have a go myself - read on to see how I did it and what I used!

1. Do you base as normal, making it look as flawless as possible.

2. Apply the Avon big colour eyeshadow pencil in blue to eyelids and blend into your skin using the Barry M eyeshadow brush. Keep applying more colour and blending until your get the desired colour. (Depends on how much blue you want) Make sure you blend outwards slightly too!

3. Using the Barry M angled eyeliner brush, apply the MUA eyeshadow in --- to lower lash line and slightly below. Blend into skin with either brush and also up towards the blue eyeshadow.

4. With the eyeshadow brush, gently put a thin layer of the green shade from the GOSH eyeshadow palette on top of both lots of showdown to add a little more shimmer and to soften the blue.

5. Use the Bell hypoallergenic water proof mascara to both upper and lower lashes. You will need at least 3 coats on top lashes to make them stand out.

6. Last be not least, a layer of L'Oreal Glamshine lip-gloss in --- to your lips.
